BRAND ARCHIVE

Identity projects that are either old as sin or didn't make the cut to full case studies, or both.

Kia Motors
Brand Evolution

At MetaDesign, our design team was invited by Kia Corporation to redesign its logo, with a number of curious constraints in place. We also extended concepts to a brand identity system and created a logo movie for each direction.

Note: Most of us know the outcome of this redesign, with Kia ultimately embracing the funky, stylized type solution we see on their cars today.

Truefacet
Nothing but the truth

What does “modern luxury” look and sound like? For TrueFacet, an online marketplace for pre-loved watches and jewelry, we created an identity that balances classic and contemporary and fits squarely into the luxury sector. We also developed a verbal tone to convey this sensibility in words.

Samsung
SmartTV MENA interface

Samsung approached us to create a special MENA (Middle East and North Africa) edition of their SmartTV interface. The project included regional interviews and customer research across the region to determine the needs and wishes of those customers. Design concepts were rooted in the findings and mined the rich heritage of Arab/Islamic culture. Custom, regionalized features included a prayer clock.

Getsafe
DIY Home Security

Inktank & Ceph
DIY Home Security

The creators of Ceph, the beloved open-source storage solution, sought to reinvigorate the brand and establish a parent brand, Inktank, to position itself as a leader in cloud computing. The ocean, being the largest ecosystem in the habitable world, emerged as the most apt metaphor for digital storage.

Subsequent to our engagement, Inktank sold to Red Hat for $175M. Design concept: Damien Webb
